Industrial Led Traffic Lights

date:2024-04-06 22:49:13

Industrial LED traffic lights are designed for use in various settings such as manufacturing, dock bays, warehouses, and more. Here are some key features:

High Quality: Industrial LED traffic lights are made to be high-quality and durable, perfect for industrial, manufacturing, dock bay, and warehouse settings.
Energy Efficient: These lights are eco-friendly with bright LEDs that ensure visibility while keeping power consumption low.
Versatile: They are available in multiple configurations for both indoor and outdoor use.
Customizable: Some manufacturers offer customizable modes in a single housing.
Application-Specific: Industrial LED traffic lights can be used in conjunction with application-specific controller software and microwave detectors to manage intersections where vehicles can collide with pedestrians or other vehicles.
Wide Usage: They are used worldwide in places like Singapore for their country’s Light Rail System, to Ireland where they are used by one of the world’s largest mining companies — Tara Mines — for industrial traffic control in their mines.
For more specific product information or if you have a particular application in mind, it would be best to contact the manufacturers directly.

Industrial LED traffic lights are heavy-duty signal heads engineered for the harsh environments of mines, ports, steel mills, oil and gas facilities, chemical plants, and other industrial sites where standard traffic signals would fail prematurely. The differences from standard traffic signals are: thicker aluminum housing, higher IP rating (IP67 or IP68), impact resistance (IK10), extended temperature range (-50 °C to +80 °C), and resistance to specific chemicals or dust loads. For B2B buyers, the critical decisions are the deployment environment chemical/dust exposure, the required impact rating, and whether the head needs explosion-proof certification for hazardous areas. GAOQIAO has supplied industrial LED traffic lights for export since 2008, with deployments in mining, port, and oil and gas sites across 60+ countries.

How to Specify an Industrial LED Traffic Light

Industrial signal specification starts with the deployment environment: what chemicals, dusts, impact risks, and temperature extremes will the head be exposed to? A signal that survives 10 years in a standard urban intersection may fail in 18 months in an iron ore handling yard.

Buyers often under-specify the impact rating. Standard traffic signals are rated IK08 (5 joule) which survives incidental contact but not deliberate or accidental impact from equipment. In mining and port environments, the rating must be IK10 (20 joule) to survive the occasional bump from a haul truck or container handler.

Chemical exposure is the second most under-specified variable. Standard polycarbonate lenses are attacked by certain solvents, fuels, and industrial chemicals that are common in oil and gas facilities. For these deployments, specify a chemical-resistant lens (typically a coated polycarbonate or a glass lens) and confirm compatibility with the site's specific chemical inventory.

Hazardous area certification (ATEX or IECEx) is required for any deployment where the signal head is in a classified hazardous area. ATEX Zone 2 covers normal operation with occasional flammable atmosphere; ATEX Zone 1 covers continuous flammable atmosphere. The certification cost and lead time are significant, but there is no field substitute - a non-certified head in a Zone 1 area is a shutdown-level safety violation in most jurisdictions.

Key Features and Benefits

IK10 Impact-Rated Housing

The cast aluminum housing with 3 mm wall thickness and IK10 impact rating survives the 20 joule impact test, equivalent to a 5 kg object dropped from 400 mm. This is the rating required for mining, port, and heavy industrial deployments where equipment contact is a realistic risk.

IP67 Dust and Water Ingress Protection

IP67 rating protects against dust ingress (complete protection) and temporary immersion in water (1 m for 30 minutes). This is essential for outdoor industrial sites with high-pressure wash-down cleaning or temporary flooding.

Extended -50 °C to +80 °C Temperature Range

The extended temperature range covers the majority of industrial deployments, from arctic mining operations to desert oil and gas sites. Components are specified at industrial temperature grade with documented derating curves.

Common Applications

Industrial LED Traffic Lights products are specified in a wide range of projects:

  • Open-pit mining haul road signal (withstand haul truck proximity)
  • Port container terminal signal (withstand container handler impact)
  • Steel mill yard signal (withstand heat and metallic dust)
  • Oil and gas facility signal (ATEX-rated for hazardous areas)
  • Chemical plant vehicle signal (chemical-resistant lens)
  • Power plant coal handling signal (dust-rated IP67)
  • Cement plant vehicle signal (abrasive dust environment)

Installation and Maintenance

Installation is similar to standard traffic signals but with heavier mounting hardware to support the cast aluminum housing weight (typically 4-8 kg per head). The mounting bracket must be specified for the same IK10 impact rating as the head. For hazardous area deployments, installation must follow the ATEX-certified cable gland and conduit specification - non-certified cable entries void the hazardous area certification. Maintenance is limited to the annual visual inspection and lens cleaning; the cast aluminum housing does not require repainting even in coastal industrial environments.

Certifications and Compliance

All industrial LED traffic lights are manufactured under ISO 9001:2015 with CE, RoHS, and IEC 60598 compliance as standard. Optional certifications include ATEX Zone 2/22, IECEx, UL 844 (Class I Div 2 for North American hazardous areas), and DNV-GL (marine). Each head ships with a photometric test report, impact test report, IP test report, and a 5-year limited warranty (3 years for ATEX-certified variants due to the certification audit requirements).

Why Choose GAOQIAO
